The hostess was very welcoming and friendly. We were offered quite a range of snacks and instant noodles.
Disliked
The actual location was difficult to find using Google Maps. Fortunately, her neighbours directed us to the property.

"Staying a Tokai"

It was clean and nice to have the place to ourselves, but I think you may need to check on day 1 that you expect the whole place if that's what you want. Once you got there the first time it was easy to find and is a short walk from the station, and the railway to and from is usually a limited express and then you need to transfer at Oe station to go to Nagoya and back. Rikka is very accommodating but it may be difficult to communicate if you don't speak Japanese, but if both of you try you will get there.

If you have a phone on roaming you may need to put the area code to call Rikka (it wouldn't work for me otherwise), I took a taxi there because I was told that the place was hard to find and my phone couldn't call her, but the taxi driver kept calling until she picked up and made sure I made it to the right place so just a bit of a warning. Even the taxi driver thought it odd her phone was saying the number wasn't used the first time he called.. Excellent taxi driver! Also if you don't clarify that you need both rooms at the beginning of your stay, you may need to share for some reason. It is a bit odd because booking.com does not give you an option for the whole or 1 room

Since we were traveling with three children, staying at a guesthouse was a great way to relax and feel closer to our normal lives after a tiring trip. Being able to do laundry was also a big help. The couple who ran the place were very friendly, and we felt completely at ease during our stay.
Disliked
The level of cleanliness is lower compared to a hotel.

The owner was very kind, the room was very clean, and the facilities were excellent! They even provided snacks and drinks, which made the children happy. The place was spotlessly clean, and there were lots of manga comics available, making it a very relaxing space.
Disliked
The location was a little hard to find as it's in a residential area, but when I called, they came out right away and helped me out!
