We care about where you sleep

TripingGuide is an independent hotel search and destination guide. We are not a booking platform, a travel agency, or a media company that sells advertising. We are a small team of editors and researchers who believe that honest, specific travel writing is worth making.

The site started because we were frustrated with the available options. Aggregator sites show you prices and star counts but tell you nothing about whether the hotel is actually good. Most travel guides are written by people who stayed for three nights on a press trip and describe the breakfast buffet in adjectives. We wanted something more direct.

What we do: We research destinations in depth, write guides that reflect our actual experience and judgement, and connect recommendations to live hotel pricing via the Booking.com affiliate programme. When you book a hotel through a link on TripingGuide, we receive a small commission. This is how we cover our costs. It does not affect which hotels we recommend — we have no commercial relationship with any hotel directly, only with Booking.com's affiliate programme as a booking platform.

What we don't do: We don't publish sponsored content. We don't accept payment from hotels in exchange for coverage. We don't write about hotels we haven't researched. When we say something is good, we mean it — and when something isn't worth your money, we say that too.

TripingGuide currently covers Central and Eastern Europe in depth, with growing coverage of Western Europe and Asia. We add new destinations when we can cover them properly, not on a schedule.
