About this property

Tucked into the coastal city of Tokoname in Aichi Prefecture, 四季の宿 徹星 carries the unhurried spirit of a traditional Japanese guesthouse while sitting just a short drive from Chubu Centrair International Airport. The surrounding area is best known for its centuries-old pottery heritage, and the town itself has a quietly distinctive character that sets it apart from the busier urban centres nearby. Guests arriving here quickly sense they have found somewhere that belongs to its location rather than simply occupying it. The property offers a handful of thoughtfully arranged room types, including a Deluxe Double Room with Shower, a Double Room with a Private Bathroom, and a Quadruple Room suited to small groups or families. 四季の宿 徹星 also provides on-site parking, making it convenient for those travelling by car along the Chita Peninsula. A restaurant means guests can eat without venturing out, which is a genuine comfort after a long journey, and the addition of a swimming pool gives the property a leisure dimension that distinguishes it from more basic accommodation in the area. Reliable WiFi throughout rounds out a practical set of amenities. This is a hotel that works well for a fairly wide range of travellers. Families will appreciate the space offered by larger room configurations and the ease of having a pool on-site, while couples passing through en route to or from Nagoya, roughly forty minutes away by road, will find it a calm and unpretentious base. Business travellers making use of the nearby airport may also value the straightforward check-in and convenient parking. Solo explorers with an interest in Tokoname's famous ceramic heritage will find the location genuinely rewarding to explore at their own pace.

The bathroom and kitchen were new and clean. The location was great. The scenery was something you don't often see in Hokkaido. The owner of the roasted sweet potato stand recommended a delicious restaurant (it was called Masa, and all the à la carte dishes were delicious, in addition to the eel set meal). My husband was also happy with the atmosphere of the room and the streetscape.

Disliked

Since it's a guesthouse, it's understandable that the noise level is affected by the other guests staying in the rooms on the same day, but if someone comes back in the middle of the night and talks outside, you can hear everything. The sound of doors opening and closing, footsteps, and even conversations inside the room, especially if the person speaks loudly, can be easily heard. This is unavoidable, so it's not a complaint about the guesthouse itself, but rather a suggestion that it might not be suitable for people who are easily bothered by noise.

"Unique stylish experience"

Superb apartment, beautifully furnished with everything you need. Conveniently located near the pottery footpath.

Disliked

The "Foot Bath Cafe" is right next door. Cafe patrons sit directly in front of the window of my bed. So I heard every word they said, and they could see me through the window. This made it a bit noisy. The cafe also has pigs that squeal loudly in the morning when they're fed. This added to the somewhat unsettling atmosphere.

"Enjoy the retro atmosphere of a town overflowing with pottery."

I was soothed by the charming atmosphere, and the cleanliness made for a very comfortable stay. The self-check-in process was explained in advance, so I was able to enter the room smoothly. The room itself was a wonderful space, with attention to detail evident in the wallpaper, tableware, shelves, and wall hangings. Being located on Tokoname's walking path, I was able to stroll through the retro shops and pottery district, which was a great advantage. It's also within walking distance of the station, making it a very convenient location for those staying from afar.

Disliked

There were three rooms, but they were quite close together, and the loud noises of other guests talking and opening and closing doors were very noticeable. I understand that some noise and sounds are to be expected, but despite the notice prohibiting parties and loud conversations, it continued late into the night, which made me think that if other guests who don't follow the rules are staying at the same time, it might be unbearable for them.

It’s close to the train station and it is very convenient for us to go to airport.

Disliked

Although the room size is large, this room is really simple and a little bit old. There is no Bidet toilet in the bathroom. The furnitures in the room are also old and simple.
