Tucked into one of Rome's most beloved and atmospheric neighbourhoods, this four-star property sits in the heart of Trastevere, a district of cobblestoned lanes, ivy-draped facades, and the kind of unhurried Roman life that visitors come specifically to find. The famous Piazza di Santa Maria in…
Who stays here
Couples
Romantic Trastevere location with charming atmosphere, private one-bedroom house, and intimate neighbourhood dining scene.
Solo travellers
Great walkable neighbourhood with lively piazza culture, though a full house may feel oversized for one.
Families
One-bedroom house limits space for larger families; pool is a plus but room configuration is restrictive.
Business travellers
WiFi and parking available, but Trastevere location and apartment-style setup lack typical business hotel amenities.

We stayed in this apartment in Trastevere from the 16th to the 19th, and despite the objectively excellent location, the experience was extremely negative in every way. Upon arrival in the morning, we politely asked the host if we could leave our bags before check-in (scheduled for 3 pm). Communication took place exclusively via WhatsApp, without any direct assistance. We were told to wait for the cleaning lady, who proved to be extremely rude and unhelpful. She made us leave our bags on a steep and uncomfortable staircase, which also happens to be the only access to the apartment: an unacceptable solution, especially for elderly people, those with mobility difficulties, or families with children and strollers. The apartment was in embarrassingly unsanitary conditions: cobwebs visible, insects present, and widespread dirt. Cleanliness is practically nonexistent. The beds are among the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced: you can clearly feel the springs in the mattress, the pillows are huge and incredibly hard, so much so that they cause a stiff neck upon awakening. The linens and overall condition are absolutely inadequate. The bathroom is in pitiful condition: the shower stall is dirty and encrusted, the showerhead is old and malfunctioning, and the fixtures are crooked and leaky. The bidet splashes everywhere because the aerator is completely clogged with limescale. There's only one ventilation hole, a tiny window overlooking the rooftops of the surrounding houses, without any protection (like mosquito nets), allowing insects and other things to enter. To make matters worse, the bathroom door doesn't close: in an apartment advertised for six people, not having the slightest bit of privacy is unacceptable. The kitchen, which was one of the main reasons for choosing the apartment, turned out to be unusable: the sink is encrusted and dirty to the point of disgusting even just looking at it (photos attached).

The location is excellent, central yet quiet. Close to restaurants, river. Good size, comfortable beds, all beds are regular, not pull-out sofas. There was a power strip for the grounding plugs. Communication was fast and forward-looking.
Disliked
The bathroom is quite narrow, the gallery is not suitable for tall people. The TV remote control is slow to respond.

"Overall, we were happy with our stay; the price and location made it all worth it."

The accommodation was in a great location, with plenty of restaurants and shopping options nearby, and the city center was quick and easy to reach. It’s excellent in that regard!

Communication and Check-in Communication with the host was only possible via WhatsApp. They were quite passive, providing no information regarding the apartment (e.g., how to use the facilities or where to find the Wi-Fi router - which we actually had to plug in ourselves). We were also left guessing whether the Spumante in the fridge was a gift for us or not. Our arrival was also poorly coordinated. We had asked in advance if we could drop off our luggage since we were arriving in the morning. The host refused, stating the apartment wouldn’t be ready until 3:00 PM due to cleaning. Consequently, we paid for a luggage locker, only for the host to message us at 11:30 AM saying the place was ready. This was quite frustrating and an unnecessary expense for us. Apartment Condition and Layout The cleanliness was disappointing as the railings inside the apartment were dusty. Additionally, there wasn't enough information regarding the sleeping arrangements; for instance, the sofa bed in the living room turned out to be extremely uncomfortable. It is important to note the layout: the apartment has no separate bedrooms. Everything is in one open-plan space, except for the bathroom. The bathroom is the only separate room, partitioned by a sliding door, but since it opens directly into the kitchen-dining area, it is far from ideal regarding privacy and odors.
