Stylish apt with Garden

Quiet and central flat in a very good part of Athens. Very nice lady managing the property and always ready to help! I liked the little garden right outside the living room because this is so rare to find in central Athens. It's great to have breakfast there. I also really appreciated how quiet it was because I had stayed in other flats in Athens and found the noise in other places insufferable.

Disliked

The only problem is the humidity. There is a washing machine and a drying rack outside, which was useful, but drying clothes takes more than 24 hours.

Liked

Exceptional garden with trees and various flora (and a ceramic sphinx). This is quite rare for central Athens, and it provides much-needed shade and tranquility. • Michalis (the host) is exceptionally helpful. Any issue I had, I could contact him directly, and he would present prompt solutions in person or through a partner. • 5 minutes walk from Evangelismos metro station (on the airport route, also a big plus) and 20 minutes walk to Syntagma square. It took me 40 minutes to reach the airport when I left. • Big L-shaped comfortable couch. • Lots of storage space. • Washing machine and drying rack on the terrace. • Decent Wi-Fi (again with Michalis' exceptional help, I was provided with a temporary high-speed 5G network). • Two air conditioners (living room + bedroom). • Insect nets on all windows and manual shutters in the bedroom. Perfect for a good night's sleep. • Excellent selection of cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and supermarkets a few minutes away. • Unique (for Athens) Japanese-themed park across the street.

Disliked

The apartment is located on the basement level (actually the ground floor, as it is below other buildings, but you descend into the building), and there is very little natural light, mostly due to the presence of other tall buildings around. The garden also provides shade, but there is a lack of direct sunlight, and I had to turn on the lights at all hours of the day. • The bathroom could be better, and especially the shower, which would need improvement. The shower is very narrow, and the shower curtain sticks to your body. Movement is quite restricted in the confined space. • There is a mounted Samsung smart TV in the living room, but I would have liked it to be a bit bigger. It was sometimes hard to see from the couch.
