Ocean Breeze Las Canteras, Gran Canaria Duration of stay: December 17–27, 2025 Unfortunately, our experience in this apartment was extremely negative. From the very beginning, the apartment had a serious sewer problem in the kitchen—a pungent, unpleasant odor that was impossible to ignore. A logical question arises: why rent out apartments to guests without first addressing such issues? However, the sewer smell wasn't the only disappointment. The apartment was infested with cockroaches, and they roamed freely both day and night. This is absolutely unacceptable for accommodation rented to tourists, especially families with children. After I complained to the manager, a worker was sent to the apartment. He messed with the sewer system and then, without any warning or consent from us, began spraying the kitchen with chemicals using a large sprayer (Habitro's®️ Insecticide). My child and I were in the room at the time. No one: • asked our consent; • asked whether we had allergies, asthma, or other medical conditions; • asked us to leave the apartment during the treatment. I tried to object and explain that chemicals cannot be used in the presence of people and a child, but they simply ignored me. I immediately contacted the manager, but received a rude message in response, claiming the product was "not dangerous," despite the instructions stating otherwise. I sincerely hope that Booking.com will look into this situation and explain to owners and managers that: • People have allergies, asthma, and other chronic medical conditions; • guests should not be exposed to health risks; • any chemical treatments should only be carried out with the consent of guests and in compliance with safety regulations. I hope that those responsible are held accountable and that other travelers are not harmed by such negligence.
