Avinguda de Josep Tarradellas, 80, Eixample, 08029 Barcelona, Spain
Superb
27 reviews
Sitting in the lively Eixample district of Barcelona, Josep Tarradellas 80 is a four-star apartment hotel that feels refreshingly residential in a city where so many properties can seem anonymous and interchangeable. Named after the avenue it calls home, the property places guests within easy reach of some of Catalonia's most celebrated architecture, including the extraordinary facades of La Pedrera and Casa Batlló, both within a comfortable stroll. This is a corner of Barcelona that balances authentic neighbourhood life — local cafés, food markets, and tree-lined streets — with the cultural richness the city is globally known for. Space is the defining feature here, and Josep Tarradellas 80 delivers it generously through its three-bedroom apartment configuration, making it a genuine rarity in a city where square footage often comes at a premium. Guests benefit from free WiFi throughout, on-site parking that removes one of urban travel's persistent headaches, a swimming pool for warmer months, and a restaurant so that convenient meals are never far away. The apartments themselves feel more like a private home than a hotel room, offering the kind of breathing room that shorter-stay accommodation rarely provides. This property suits families and groups of friends particularly well, given the multi-bedroom layout and the self-contained nature of the accommodation. Longer-stay visitors who want a genuine Barcelona base rather than simply a bed will find the setup equally rewarding. Couples travelling together or extended family gatherings looking for shared space without sacrificing comfort will appreciate the value this kind of arrangement offers in one of Europe's most visited cities. Barcelona El Prat Airport is also conveniently close, making arrivals and departures far less stressful than in many city-centre locations.
Who stays here
Couples
Spacious apartment with pool and great Eixample location, though three-bedroom units are larger than most couples need.
Solo travellers
Oversized three-bedroom apartments feel excessive for solo travellers, and costs may not justify the extra space.
Families
Three-bedroom apartments, swimming pool, and a residential neighbourhood make this an ideal family base in Barcelona.
Business travellers
WiFi and central location help, but apartment-style lodging lacks dedicated business facilities like meeting rooms.

Peace, location
Disliked
One of the rooms had no window, so it was not ventilated. In addition, there were no sockets in this room when the light was turned off. So charging your mobile phone overnight and having it by the bed at the same time was unrealistic.

The location and Marcos's very friendly service are great; he's super attentive to make sure you have everything clear when you arrive, and if you need anything, he's available, which is much appreciated.

"Vintage apartment with "personality""

First and foremost, the host was amazing. He was incredibly attentive to my arrival, constantly communicating with me and making everything easier, even when train delays affected my arrival by more than 5 hours. His kindness was truly appreciated. The location is fantastic, just a 7-minute walk from Sants station—a real luxury. There are plenty of bars, cafes, supermarkets, and everything else you might need for a very pleasant stay. The apartment has character. Don't expect an IKEA apartment; most of the furniture is vintage, but anything else would look out of place. The bed (the one I slept in, as there are two) was comfortable. Something that really surprised me, given its location and the huge window overlooking the terrace in the living room, was the silence. I expected a night of noise, cars, and voices, but I didn't hear a thing.
Disliked
Well, there wasn't anything I didn't like. It's true, and I already mentioned this to the host, that curtains on the large window might be a good idea to avoid being too exposed to the street. I prefer indirect lighting, but if you like places very brightly lit at night, you might miss having some strong lighting in the dining area, although I should mention that during the day, with all the natural light coming through the terrace, you'll have more than enough. Amenities like a washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher weren't available when I was there. In my case, it didn't bother me because it was only for one night, but for longer stays, I imagine it would be something to discuss or take into account.

Large and bright apartment. The decor is dated but well-maintained and harmonious. It's well-equipped with kitchenware and everyday essentials (sugar, coffee, shower gel, dish soap, toilet paper, etc.). Personal check-in and two copies of the original keys are provided.
Disliked
The dishwasher was broken. The traffic was quite loud from the outside room, but it didn't bother my 2-year-old son, and he slept better than he had in many days.
