Tucked into the residential fabric of Prague, LIVE-INN PRAGUE 1 BDR CITY VIEW SUITE FOR 1-4 GUESTS is a modest apartment-style property that trades a central Old Town address for a quieter, more local feel. The suite sits within reasonable reach of some of the city's most celebrated landmarks,…
Who stays here
Couples
City view and balcony are appealing, but low guest ratings and apartment-style setup lack romantic charm.
Solo travellers
Free WiFi, gym, and central Prague location work, but mediocre reviews and suite size exceed solo needs.
Families
Play areas, playground, family-friendly amenities, and space for up to four guests suit families well.
Business travellers
Business area and WiFi help, but low ratings, 3-star category, and distance from airport are drawbacks.

The check-in instructions were amazing and very easy to follow. The location was also great, with a bus stop and a small market very close by, which was really convenient. Overall, it was a great stay for the value.

Very helpful host. Returned calls immediately and resolved issues or requests rapidly. Near bus stop to the city. 20 minutes to downtown Prague Very clean apt.

Durng afternoons, the room faces the sun and in warm or hot days would be hot inside apartment. No A/C to cool it. Yes, there is parking aavailable. It is on the street but it is limited due to the many residents from apt buildiings. Late afternoon or evening may be difficult to find a spot. Many washing machines are available in basement room for building residents. It is coin operated (local currency only) and the metering device is out of sync with the washing cycles. The system needs a specific set of coins to provide power in steps of 30 minutes, that do not match the duration of the washers or the dryers. If the timer runs out before the program runs out, the system keeps your clothes hostage until you pay up.

The description is decidedly misleading. The confirmation states an apartment with one bedroom, a kitchen, and a sofa... In fact, it was a room with a double bed leaning against the wall on one side, so you had to climb up to get in. Right next to the bed, there was also a sofa and a table. It was decidedly unlivable for four people, with both the bedroom and bathroom (both for living and for storage) being sacrificed in terms of space (the closet is tiny). The amenities offered included a desk (which wasn't there), a patio (shared with the rest of the building), and there's mention of a receptionist: during the entire stay, we only encountered someone once. In fact, there's a sign with opening hours (and it's not even in English!). We also wrote to ask for support (the washing machine was broken), but no one ever answered. The washing machine and dryer are there, but in a common area and coin-operated, which is a problem for those without local currency. Among other things, the washing machine wasn't working, and when we contacted the owner, he told us it was an external service and therefore couldn't do anything about it. The supplies: the kitchen was extremely limited, and the toilet paper provided for four people for four days consisted of one half-roll and one extra. When we complained, we were told that usually, when the paper runs out, guests go out and buy it! One last tip: when we complained about the size of the room, the owner told us we were free to book elsewhere that evening and that he would refund us. Incredible. Where could we find an alternative for that evening and the following days? We'd have been two, but we're a family of four. In short, everything offered isn't exactly what's actually provided; just consider that it's not specified whether it's for the common area or whether it's for a fee. I find this shameful. Highly discouraged!

"Pleasant stay, somewhat small for a family"

The host is very helpful and goes out of their way to help us on the way. The apartment is newly furnished and everything needed for a short stay for four people is included. There is a silent period from 22.00 to 6.00 in the morning, which is adhered to quite well. There is a charger for electric cars in front of the property, which did not yet work when we were there but future guests may have more luck; it is nice to see it is being placed. Connectivity via bus and metro to downtown Prague is quite good. Pay attention to the time of the last bus (and its frequency at night) if you expect to return home late. Heads-up: I write a long list of things we liked less, but all of them may be of less concern to others. Overall it is a nice place to stay if you know what to expect!

Although everything needed for four people is included, the one-room apartment (ie, there is a small but clean and functional bad room, and "the rest of the apartment" being a shared kitchen/bedroom/living room) is not large for a person living alone. As a holiday apartment it is OK for two people, but with parents and a couple of kids it is pushing the limits. We selected this room in part because of the availability of a washing machine. The washing machines are a shared pool offered by the property. Although they are new and clean, the payment system is everything except new or modern. The system needs a specific set of coins to provide power in steps of 30 minutes, that do not match the duration of the washers or the dryers. If the timer runs out before the program runs out, the system keeps your clothes hostage until you pay up. The listing advertises free parking. Parking is free on the streets around the property, but places are often not available. There is a handful parking places available on the property, but they are payed parking places (not included in the price, according to the receptionist) The receptionists are another point: they are friendly, but none of them speaks English or German, and not all of them share the same willingness to understand how Google Translate works. The room is non-smoking, and the shared spaces are non-smoking as well, but with the window open, smoke from neighbouring rooms has the habit of blowing in. People adhere to the silent period quite well, but without noise cancelling headphones do not expect to sleep past 6 in the morning, when construction work in the yard behind the property starts, or before 22 because of the thin walls. The beds, finally, could have been more comfortable, but we were able to sleep well enough. All in all, if I were traveling as a student I'd stay here again, with family I'd spent a few euro more per day and find a larger apartment.
