Sitting in the heart of Salzburg, one of Austria's most celebrated cities, the Adlerhof occupies a quietly impressive position within easy reach of the Old Town, Mozart's birthplace, and the iconic Hohensalzburg Fortress that watches over the rooftops from its hilltop perch. The building itself carries genuine historical character, and simply stepping through its doors gives a sense that this is a property with roots — something increasingly rare in a city that attracts visitors from around the world year-round. Inside, the Adlerhof keeps things honest and comfortable rather than showy. Guests can choose from single, double, twin, triple, and quadruple rooms, making it one of the more flexible options at this price point. A restaurant on site means there is no pressure to head straight out after a long journey, and the presence of a swimming pool is a genuine bonus for a two-star property — a small luxury that lifts the overall experience noticeably. Free WiFi and on-site parking round out the practical side of things, and the early check-in from seven in the morning is a thoughtful touch for those arriving on overnight trains or early flights. The Adlerhof suits a broad range of travellers rather well. Families benefit from the larger room configurations and the parking, while couples exploring Salzburg's music festivals, baroque architecture, and surrounding alpine landscape will find it a sensible and well-located base. Solo travellers and those on a careful budget get genuine value without sacrificing comfort or convenience. For anyone driving in from Vienna or Munich for a short break, this is a property that delivers exactly what it promises — a reliable, characterful stay in a remarkable city.
Who stays here
Couples
Central Salzburg location is romantic; modest 2-star amenities may lack luxury touches couples sometimes seek.
Solo travellers
Affordable single rooms, great location, WiFi, and strong guest ratings make it ideal for solo explorers.
Families
Triple and quadruple rooms plus a pool suit families well, though 2-star amenities may feel basic.
Business travellers
WiFi and central location help, but a 2-star hotel lacks dedicated business facilities like meeting rooms.

"A simple but nice hotel"

The breakfast is really good! The staff is lovely! Vanesa was a huge help since she speaks Spanish! The room is nice and very clean! If I had to make a suggestion, I'd say remove the colorful rug and ALL the artificial flowers from the hallways and common areas because they detract from the hotel's overall quality. We had a great time! Thank you!
Disliked
I didn't like that they put that photo with the Alps behind the hotel, because it's misleading advertising, since they're NOT there.

The location was great. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection. The staff was very friendly.

Room was dark (No. 1). Pillows too soft (a feather refill would be nice). The shower drain wasn't cleaned, the water didn't drain properly, and we had a flood in the bathroom. The bathroom door was swollen from dampness (probably not the first time it's flooded).

"The location is great! The surrounding area is a bit noisy! The breakfast is very good, with a wide selection, and you can even make your own pancakes!"

It's very close to the station, and there are many shopping malls, restaurants, and fast food chains nearby.
Disliked
Absolutely no toiletries were provided! Just two small bars of soap! And they won't refill them the next day! Although the bathroom has a separate wet and dry area, there seems to be a design flaw; the glass door doesn't stop the water at all, and the whole bathroom floods after a shower! There's also absolutely no drainage system… and the key is too heavy and inconvenient to store!

The parking was advertised as free. We paid 20 euros for two days. The hotel rooms are small.
